Welcome to my page!  I love to teach and have been at it for the past 14 years!  I have always loved learning and am always anxious to learn more.  I spend a lot of my free time reading about history, watching historical documentaries/docu-dramas,  playing strategy games, spending time with my family, and traveling  whenever I get the chance. 

 

I love teaching Social Studies because it is the only topic in which we can discuss and debate and come up with multiple interpretations that can all be right.  In the pursuit of understanding the past, students must look at a variety of perspectives to find themes through the analysis of documents, pictures, artifacts, and more.  Because of this I have designed my classes to be open and constantly driven to learn more. I include a variety of approaches in lesson planning, with an emphasis on understanding the people and choices in ways which my students can relate to.  Furthermore, I incorporate opportunities for creativity as frequently as possible.
